Kerberos is a network authentication protocol that provides secure authentication for client-server applications, commonly used in enterprise environments to verify the identities of users and services.

MIT Kerberos integration overview

Fischer’s MIT Kerberos connector provides identity lifecycle management, access management, and password management functionality, enabling organizations to integrate Kerberos authentication with Fischer Identity. Through identity integration, administrators can configure MIT Kerberos as a connected system, validate users, reset account passwords, expire passwords immediately, and enable or disable user accounts. These features strengthen password management and deliver secure account lifecycle control, allowing users to reset or change their credentials when needed.

On the provisioning side, the connector supports full lifecycle operations including export, create, modify, and delete for user profiles, ensuring accurate synchronization across systems. Built for UNIX/Linux platforms hosting the MIT Kerberos Server, the connector leverages Fischer Identity to simplify administration and extend governance into Kerberos environments. By unifying Kerberos with Fischer Identity, organizations can ensure secure, efficient, and policy-driven identity management.
