Manager of Infrastructure Services

The Manager of Infrastructure Services is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing Fischer Identity’s cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This position ensures service reliability, scalability, and security to meet or exceed contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with customers. The Manager will lead a team of skilled infrastructure engineers to design, monitor, and enhance Fischer’s Identity solutions, including Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS), ensuring optimal performance, security, and customer satisfaction. 

This role collaborates cross-functionally with Implementation, Solution Management, and Development teams to deliver infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and advance continuous integration and deployment practices. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Solution and Support Monitoring 

  • Monitor all applicable services and infrastructure assets to ensure compliance with SLA obligations, providing 24×7 coverage for customer-facing systems. 
  • Construct oversight analytics to provide executive management visibility into the health of customer solutions and infrastructure. 
  • Develop and maintain personnel coverage matrices and escalation workflows to address infrastructure incidents promptly. 
  • Build proactive monitoring solutions using commercial tools, open-source resources, or custom scripts to track key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Oversee the operation of infrastructure components, implementing alerting tools to notify stakeholders of potential or active issues. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving RDBMS, LDAP, and platform components within Fischer’s IDaaS infrastructure. 
  • Administer servers, including user access, permissions, upgrades, patches, driver updates, and platform maintenance for security and operational efficiency. 
  • Manage and maintain software on company assets, including Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Java, IIS, and other critical third-party components. 

2. Process, Policy Oversight, and Change Management 

  • Oversee and enforce change control processes for infrastructure-related updates and improvements. 
  • Validate upgrades within test environments, including simulated scenarios and CSS customization reviews. 
  • Maintain and update templates for infrastructure tasks, such as product and platform upgrades and installations. 
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of Fischer Identity software for customer engagements. 
  • Ensure daily monitoring and reporting of infrastructure tasks to confirm compliance with security and operational standards. 
  • Collaborate with Information Security to enforce security controls and ensure compliance with published processes. 
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and the customer experience. 

3. Product Delivery and Optimization 

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and optimization of Fischer Identity Suite products for customer deployments. 
  • Complete tasks outlined in Statements of Work, including product installations, connected system integrations, and Global Identity Gateway configurations. 
  • Optimize product infrastructure components such as connection pooling and computing resources to meet customer needs. 
  • Ensure product deployments align with customer security and infrastructure specifications, maintaining integrity and a commitment to customer satisfaction. 

4. Personnel and Team Management 

  • Maintain a skilled and competent infrastructure team to meet operational and customer requirements. 
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and maintain an up-to-date skills matrix for team members. 
  • Promote company values and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. 
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding of new team members, providing training and mentorship. 
  • Schedule team tasks, updates, outages, and installations while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders. 
  • Organize and document infrastructure processes, guides, and training materials. 
  • Research future technology, potential improvements, and security risks to inform strategic decisions. 
  • Initiate and manage team projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. 

 

Required Skills and Knowledge 

Technical Expertise 

  • Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline management. 
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, and related technologies. 
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and LDAP directory services (e.g., OpenLDAP, CentOS LDAP, 389 Directory Server). 
  • Understanding of networking concepts, load balancers, WAFs, SSL certificates, RabbitMQ, and Secrets Manager. 
  • Scripting skills, such as Cloud Formation / Terraform. 

Leadership and Collaboration 

  • Proven ability to lead and develop diverse technical teams. 
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, customers, and executives. 
  • Effective in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

Problem Solving and Analytical Skills 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues. 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret customer requirements, data, and technical documentation. 
  • Expertise in designing innovative solutions to improve infrastructure performance and efficiency. 

 

Qualifications 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum of 7 years in infrastructure engineering or a related leadership role. 

Certifications 

  • AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, IDPro, or other relevant certifications preferred. 

Other Requirements 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends. 

 Physical and Special Requirements 

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
